Argentinians and solidarity

Argentinians and solidarity

8 out of 10 Argentinians feel solidarity.

Results of the survey on solidarity and volunteering carried out in 2015, presented within the framework of the celebration of the National Solidarity Day of the Social Sector Forum.

Some findings of the study:

  • When it comes to self-assessing how supportive Argentinians consider themselves, 8 out of 10 say they are supportive: 24% very supportive, 55% quite supportive.
  • Compared to a survey carried out in 2007, there is a slight increase in the percentage of people who feel solidarity (from 73% to 79%).
  • It is women who feel themselves most solidarity (28% say they are very supportive against 20% among men).
  • Although it is a more comprehensive phenomenon, solidarity is closely related to volunteering. Among Argentines who currently carry out voluntary work, the self-perception of solidarity grows to 86%. Even among those who today do not volunteer but have done so in the past, the self-perception of solidarity is growing.
  • One third of Argentinians (33%) declare interest in doing this type of work, indicating that there is a good basis on which to work.
